Uchenna Morgan Ugwuadu (born 20 October 1999), widely known by his stage name Rhyness, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and performing artiste. He started singing and writing songs at age 9. His foray into the entertainment scene was as an actor, when he was part of an acting crew doing comedy skits with a couple of his church friends, and was part of the church praise band. In april 2019, he released a track titled On Fleek(Feel Your Body) which has since enjoyed massive airplay across all media platforms. He has since recorded a couple other songs yet to be released release alongside an EP album.

Early Life

Rhyness was born on 20 October, 1999 in Lagos, though he hails from Ngor Okpala LGA, in Imo state. He is the second child in a household of four siblings. He attended Navy Town Secondary School, Satellite town, Lagos, He later studied Polymers and Textiles Engineering in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka but could not continue due to financial constraints resulting from his parents divorce and separation. He was a member of his church band and payed key attention to the rudiments of music. He started gaining popularity in his neighbourhood when he does raw freestyles and performance in open street shows(street jamz), local events.

Music Career

Rhyness had an interest in music at an early age of 9 when he started writing songs. He later discovered that he could sing as well and had since written and recorded so many songs with a digital voice recorder bought for him by his mom. He met with Spickbeats and Skuki and some other pioneers in the Nigerian music industry that have in no small measure contributed to his knowledge on the craft. His style of music consists of Afrobeats, Afropop, Dancehall, and he cites Elvis Presley, Micheal Jackson, Lucky Dube, Future Hendrix and Fela Anikulapo Kuti as his greatest inspiration and has great influence on his music. He released a song with title ‘dancia’ in 2016 and ever since had dropped other mind-blowing and sensational hits songs including ‘On Fleek(Prod by Hottunes) amongst others.
