US Senegalese singer, Akon has revealed that he has signed Olamide to Konvict Music Worldwide.

He made this known during an interview on the Breakfast Club. According to him, they have already began working together.

Akon stated this after he revealed that Nigerian music artistes don’t honor record deals. According to him, what is done in Nigeria is just a gentleman’s agreement with no papers signed.

He also revealed that he once signed Wizkid and Davido, but due to the way Nigerian artiste honor deals, nothing much could be gotten out of their agreement.

The revelation by Akon is yet to be confirmed by Olamide who has his own record label named YBNL Records.

Early Life

Rhyness was born on 20 October, 1999 in Lagos, though he hails from Ngor Okpala LGA, in Imo state. He is the second child in a household of four siblings. He attended Navy Town Secondary School, Satellite town, Lagos, He later studied Polymers and Textiles Engineering in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka but could not continue due to financial constraints resulting from his parents divorce and separation. He was a member of his church band and payed key attention to the rudiments of music. He started gaining popularity in his neighbourhood when he does raw freestyles and performance in open street shows(street jamz), local events.

Music Career

Rhyness had an interest in music at an early age of 9 when he started writing songs. He later discovered that he could sing as well and had since written and recorded so many songs with a digital voice recorder bought for him by his mom. He met with Spickbeats and Skuki and some other pioneers in the Nigerian music industry that have in no small measure contributed to his knowledge on the craft. His style of music consists of Afrobeats, Afropop, Dancehall, and he cites Elvis Presley, Micheal Jackson, Lucky Dube, Future Hendrix and Fela Anikulapo Kuti as his greatest inspiration and has great influence on his music. He released a song with title ‘dancia’ in 2016 and ever since had dropped other mind-blowing and sensational hits songs including ‘On Fleek(Prod by Hottunes) amongst others.

A final year female Accounting student of the University of Benin, Edo State, was, last night, rushed to the school’s health center after consuming a poisonous substance in an apparent suicide attempt.

The incident took place in Queen Idia hall. It was gathered that the yet-to-identified girl had rushed to the toilet after breaking down in tears telling her friends that she wanted to kill herself.

She was later discovered writhing in agony an ambulance was called in. She was subsequently rushed to the hospital, where doctors are currently battling to rescue her.

EU Report: Concerned Nigerians Group Calls For Resignation Of Nigeria’s Electoral Body, INEC’s Chairman’s Resignation

The Concerned Nigerians Group is particularly satisfied with the ‘audacious and grand’ final report of the EU EOM which was made public over the weekend and contained 30 recommendations to improve future electoral processes.

A civil society organization, Concerned Nigerians Group, has called for the resignation of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commissions ( INEC), Mahmoud Yakubu over report of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) on 2019 general elections.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday on behalf of the group, Mr.Dare Ariyo, said the Chairman of the electoral umpire has no moral right to remain in the office having been indicted by the report of the EU.
Ariyo said: “Since INEC has denied that they have no server in the court of lied on oath and we must know. That is why I also support the fact that the INEC Chairman should step aside to allow thorough investigation and we believe if the executive is not willing to do that we are calling on national assembly who approved the budget to demand the INEC chairman to step down.”
“The Concerned Nigerians Group is particularly satisfied with the ‘audacious and grand’ final report of the EU EOM which was made public over the weekend and contained 30 recommendations to improve future electoral processes. The EU EOM has done a good job and we laud its positive impacts on our elections.
“We believe that the reports by EU EOM, other partners, and our own recommendations should provide sufficient information to guide the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in developing a far-reaching framework for fundamental electoral reforms.”
According to him, the controversy over INEC server has lingered for so long in the public space and is gradually eroding the confidence of Nigerians in the electoral body as an institution that has sincerity of purpose in conducting free, fair and credible elections.
Also speaking, a human right activist, Deji Adeyanju, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to expedite action and sign the electoral act into law to ensuring credibility and transparency of the electoral process.
The European Union Election Observation Mission on Friday released its report on the just concluded general elections where the flaws and shortcomings of the process were highlighted.

BREAKING NEWS!! Pant Thieves To Be Charged With Attempted Murder – Police

Following the trend of stealing panties across Nigeria, the Nigerian police have announced that panties thieves will now be charged with attempted murder.

Zonal Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus who disclosed this via Instagram, disclosed that those caught in the act confessed to using the panties for rituals.

According to some of the apprehended panties thieves, the owners of the stolen underwear end up dying prematurely.

She wrote:-

What is the thing about increase in stealing of underpants? Learnt the ones caught in the act always confess to be using it for rituals whereof the owner dies prematurely

Henceforth anyone caught stealing pants might not be charged for stealing but attempted murder

This has to stop.

Olamide is not like most of the other popular artistes that I know, most are from a rich Background. Others had a good opportunity from record labels, but Olamide Baddo has a different story, from street to hits.

Looking at this, I have always told myself to stick to quality and uniqueness, I didn’t create a News Blog like my friends would do, I know    LAGOSLOADED       Naijaloaded and lindaikeji are handling that very well already, and if I did compete with them I will need money, kudi.

I decided to stick with a topic I have passion for, and that’s entrepreneurship, though I am not yet on top of the game like ‘Daddy Miliano‘, but I see a bright future.

3. Olamide Is Not Selfish

When olamide joined the fame league, he started partnering and helping people. I don’t know if Olamide partnered with Pheelz or signed him, the point his, he has one of the best producers one can think of In Nigeria.

Olamide did not stop there; he has a very good communication skill and respects his colleagues in the industry. Olamide signed Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold and others in a non-selfish deal.. That’s what I call Street love .

“He (Olamide) was once a nobody, but now, he’s a somebody that’s ready to make a nobody into a somebody”. My part of the story is, when my fame finally comes, I won’t be selfish in anyway.

4. Olamide Is Versatile

Olamide is known to be a rapper, but while that is very true, he has one of the best chorus lines, look at Bobo And Melo Melo . He does different kind of music with his uniqueness.

Versatility is also needed in business, as time changes, so do our strategies. I wish to meet Olamide in Person, his story is my story and to everybody hustling out there, don’t quit.

You can’t win today’s battle with yesterday’s weapon – You must be stupidly creative if you really want to excel in anything you do.
